Crowdfunding for Book Trailer Music

Do you want to know a secret?

I have commissioned the TALENTED Boe Huntress to sing a STUNNING cover of a 1980’s track for My Beautiful Psychosis book trailer. When Boe Huntress sang Eye of the Tiger, it changed the whole meaning of the song. But the track I have chosen for the trailer is to be kept a secret…

I was also inspired by Gary Jules slowed down version of the Tears For Fears hit Mad World. So Boe has recorded a stripped down acoustic version – simplifying the original – that had a much bigger musical arrangement.

Now I need you to help me raise £100 through crowdfunding to pay Boe for her talent.

The piece of music shall remain a secret – except for those of you who contribute towards this crowdfunding campaign. All donors will receive SECRET access to the track as long as they swear NOT to share it or even mention it to ANYONE. I don’t want to spoil anyone’s experience of recognising the song and wracking their brains trying to recall who originally sang it.

So please help me raise £100 and find out what the secret it.

I am shooting the trailer in a beautiful but run down house in Buenos Aires – the house being a metaphor for the soul. A dancer will perform a contemporary routine – dance representing our relationship with the universal life force energy that flows through all things. And there’s a special effect, which I can’t tell you about…because it will give away the song. I will shoot and edit – as a I’m a documentary film maker and run Green Lane Films.

Why do I need to crowdfund?

I have already spent £2500 on making sure the manuscript is the best writing I can produce. And I’ve already raised £500 to pay an artist called Naiom for the use of her work ‘Straight Jacket’ for the cover. Thanks to all of those beautiful people who contributed to that campaign.

I currently live in Buenos Aires where I dance tango and receive amazing care that will hopefully prevent further cyclical episodes. I clean and do lots of odd jobs in exchange for accommodation. I have a flat in England, which I rent out, and that rental income pays for my basic living costs. I live on £10 a day and have nothing in reserve.

I would really appreciate any support you can give. Your money will not only ensure the trailer is amazing, it will touch me deeply to know that you believe in me and my story.

I am so grateful to everyone who has already donated to this crowdfunding campaign. A BIG thank you from the bottom of my heart. You will all be able to see your name in the acknowledgements section of the book. Haven’t you secretly always wanted that?

My debut memoir My Beautiful Psychosis: Making Sense of Madness is published by Aeon Books and is now available on Audible as a Audiobook.
